Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) has been utilized in skin booster & rejuvenation all over the world. It is a revolutionary process using your own blood to produce PRP, which is enriched with various growth factors, cytokines, white blood cells, and platelets.

What does PRP do?

PRP is concentrated with numerous growth factors (PDGF, TGF, EGF, and VEGF). It promotes skin healing, stimulates collagen production, and improves blood circulation.

Other than skin, PRP can be injected into the joint to reduce joint pain, stimulate cartilage production, and improve joint function.

What condition can be benefited from PRP?

  • Aging skin
  • Fine lines
  • Dark eye circles
  • Sagging skin
  • Acne
  • Scar
  • Joint pain

What is the process of PRP treatment?

Before treatment, blood sample is taken from the patient. The blood will immediately go through centrifugation, harvesting, and activation. PRP is then injected into the face to achieve regeneration and healing.

The process is done at doctor premise. It is simple and quick. To minimize the discomfort during treatment, very fine needle is used, and numbing cream will be applied on patient face. The process takes about 1 – 2 hours.

Is there any down time?

There is minimal down time. After PRP treatment, patients may experience mild redness, tingling sensation, minimal bruising, and these often resolve in few hours to a few days.

Is there any side effect?

As PRP is derived from patient own blood, it is ‘own’ physiologic products. There is no risk of allergy or donor transmissible infection.

Is the result immediate? How long does result last?

Immediately, skin firming is visible, followed by tissue healing and collagen regeneration. Skin rejuvenation process can take few weeks.

Typically, it requires 4 – 6 treatment sessions yearly to maintain the result, depending on the lifestyle and skin condition.
