What is Botox? What does it do?

How does Botox treat wrinkles?

Botox^®  works by blocking the signal from the nerves that excite specific muscles. It is injected into the specific muscles that cause wrinkles. It relaxes the muscle so they no longer tense up to cause wrinkles. The muscles regain their function overtime, which means there is no permanent effect.


How quickly will I see a difference? How long does it last?

Depending on the area being treated, you will usually notice a softening of the wrinkles within 3 – 7 days. The area will continue to improve for up to a month, and you will see the benefits for around 4 months.



Are there any side effects?
