Botox Injection

What is Botox? What does it do?

Botox®  is a highly purified protein that relaxes wrinkle-causing muscles, creating a refreshed and youthful look. It is manufactured and marketed by Allergan Inc., USA under stringent conditions to ensure highest standards. It can be used to improve crow’s feet lines, frown lines, frontal lines, facial slimming, and excessive sweating.

How does Botox treat wrinkles?

Botox®  works by blocking the signal from the nerves that excite specific muscles. It is injected into the specific muscles that cause wrinkles. It relaxes the muscle so they no longer tense up to cause wrinkles. The muscles regain their function overtime, which means there is no permanent effect.

How quickly will I see a difference? How long does it last?

Depending on the area being treated, you will usually notice a softening of the wrinkles within 3 – 7 days. The area will continue to improve for up to a month, and you will see the benefits for around 4 months.

Are there any side effects?

Botox®  is proven to be well-tolerated with few side effects; there may be a possibility of experiencing discomfort. Possible side effects include headaches, burning sensation, bruising, redness, drooping eyelids or eyebrows, swollen eyelids, and tingling sensation. Your doctor will determine the best dose for you, and which muscles to inject to give you the best result with least side effects. This is why it is important that BOTOX® is only administered by a trained physician.

Will I stil be able to make facial expressions after BOTOX?

Many people have concerns regarding the development of a ‘frozen face’. When administered with the expertise of a fully-trained physician, BOTOX® produces natural, subtle results and gives you a refreshed appearance.
